Who We Are

Deer Lake Church has the hope of establishing a local fellowship of believers that desire to actively participate in the history of God at a local, national, and worldwide level. Through reading (from Scripture), teaching (Bible studies), and preaching (Evangelism), the main objective of our church is to participate in the Great Commission, as described in John 21 & Matthew 28, making disciples of Jesus Christ in all nations. Through His sacrifice on the cross, Jesus Christ opened a way for us to understand eternal absolute truth and the unconditional love of God the Father.

The premise of Deer Lake Church is to gather those who seek Him desiring to develop a loving relationship with Him based on grace… a grace that forgives sin and brings us into a changed life by the power of God’s Holy Spirit.

The Bible tells us that it is through the Word we gain faith, and through this faith, we are able to receive God’s grace which can be shared with others through fellowship and acts of service. We hope that by meeting and seeking the His Word in everything we do… that it might become alive inside of us as God intends. Active church planting projects are initiated in order to gather people who hunger for the truth and desire real change in their life. Our hope as a group is to share the truth and power of God’s Word, and the life that comes from knowing and being in Jesus Christ.

Our Vision

Located in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis & St.Paul Minnesota, we wish to fully participate in the fulfillment of God’s dream, the building of the body of Christ as Apostle Paul mentions in many of his letters to the church. (See: Rom 12:4-8, 1Cor 10:16-17, 1Cor 12:12-27, Col 1:18 & 24, Col 2:19, Col 3:15, Eph 2:15-22, Eph 4: 4-6 & 11-16, Eph 5:29-30) In this same way we are seeking the abundant diversity formed by people from various backgrounds harmoniously united in the truth.

We are fully committing to the great commission that the Lord Jesus Christ appointed His children to follow. As true disciples of Christ, we not only read and listen to the Word of God, but also active in our desire to follow in the footsteps of Christ… feeding the lost sheep and dying so that many others may come to also live in Christ. Therefore, we wish to spread the good news of the Gospel to the street, neighborhood, and world.

We believe that in order to spread the joy of salvation that comes through Jesus Christ in the greatest way we must consider methods capable of reaching hundreds and thousands of people. Church planting is an opportunity for our congregation to put the Word into practice, seeking to reach people with the message of the Gospel. In this way, we can truly heal, influence, and change the world with the knowledge of Christ.

The Word of God which brings us into an active relationship with Him gives us true life, a sense of peace, satisfaction, and joy not otherwise found in the world. In God there is an opportunity for every person to invest their time, talents, and life into something eternal. We especially want to welcome, serve, and unite with those who have an overwhelming desire to make the most of the gifts and talents he Has given them. We are always seeking opportunities to serve and collaborate with those having a passion for seeking His Word and sincerely living it out.

Our desire is to build up the church that is committed to sharing the joy of the Lord, and our lives through fellowship in Him.

Statement of Faith

We believe in the Holy Scriptures as originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy; and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

We believe in One God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in Our Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, His virgin birth, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His mediatorial work, and His Personal return in power and glory.

We believe in the Salvation of lost and sinful man through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ by faith apart from works, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit.

We believe in The Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy life, to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe in the Unity of the Spirit of all true believers, the Church, the Body of Christ.

We believe in the Resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

Membership

Understanding that Christ “loved the church and gave himself up for her” (Ephesians 5:25), Deer Lake Church retains formal membership. We acknowledge formal membership as an important step in demonstrating our commitment to Jesus Christ.

All believers are members of the body of Christ and local church membership is the public acknowledgment of this spiritual reality. As followers of Christ, we are all “members of the household of God” (Ephesians 2:19), and thus it is essential to participate as a member of His body. We become one healthy body when each member does its part well (1 Corinthians 12:20).

Deer Lake Church holds its members in high regard… we expect each other to proclaim and reveal the gospel in our lives, and in this way, we pray to become faithful stewards and managers of God’s creation.
